
“Who do you want to be?” – my answer was always that I wanted to become an artist. I guess I can consider myself lucky that my dream came true, although getting there took quite a bit of time. Instead of art, I studied classical music for years and even earned a degree in it. Yet my long-standing desire never left me alone, and so I eventually ended up at the Estonian Academy of Arts, from which I graduated in 2011 as a design artist.
My interest in typography arose already during my school years. Later, while working as a designer in a printing company, this interest in typography and, more broadly, lettering grew even stronger. When, in 2022, I felt the desire to learn something new again and to do something tangible for a change instead of sitting in front of a computer screen, I realized that a calligraphy school might be exactly what I needed.
